A cruel ending, Konrad Brooks

You have ended all I was, all I could have been, all we could have been.
Do you not remember me when you hear the leaves rustle in the trees?
Do you not remember me, how I was so excited about even the most simple things in life, before distance made my head hurt so much?
Do you not remember the good times before you put distance and distrust between us?
Do you not remember saying that you were sorry you had been the one to destroy my happiness given how you conducted the early days of our relationship, from 2008?
All that love I had for you, thrown away because you were 'busy' or felt inclined to play around on me whilst I was at that distance.
You overestimated me, my strength.
To be abandoned at this stage in my life, so cruelly, by the man I truly loved, waited for, went through so much loneliness en route for, to be abandoned without being given patience and help, well, you have taken the life out of me.

Mexican Limes

Tuesday, 4 May 2010

We call this part of the boat 'the bowsprit'.

Kaizen gave me a 'sextant' yesterday. Sextants are used for navigating by the stars and the sun. I don't know how to use it yet.

Party in the cockpit.

Mexico's national drink - the Margarita.
Tequila, lime, and something fizzy, like 7-UP.

We call a boat like this a skiff, a dinghy or a tender.
This is my friend's skiff. Their boat is called Kaizen. We want to sail to Japan together.

My boyfriend is wearing the Sumo tee-shirt that Shirai-sensei gave to me.

Life Is Good

Yesterday I had a party on my boat. It was lots and lots of fun. We ate traditional Mexican food called Cerviche. It's raw fish 'cooked' with lime juice.

So how are you all doing? It's a new school year!
Hello to you all and to my teacher friends, like Tsukimi-sensei and Mr Smile.
I miss you all!

I love watching the birds in the bay with my binoculars. The smaller binoculars were my grandfather's.

Anchored in the bay.

Hotdogs on the boat. Yum.

Zeus The Dog

My friends.

My boat is UK registered so I fly the British flag, which is a special flag for boats, called the Red Ensign. The Queen's flag is white.
Please say HI to all the teachers for me!
I miss you all very much.

I love the sailing life. My dream has come true.

I use solar power for ALL my energy needs.

Sailing the boat yesterday. It took 3 hours to travel 15 miles.

Freshly squeezed orange juice on deck.

My boat is in the middle.

Boiling water on the fire.

Untangling a log from my anchor lines.

Having a fire on the beach.

Going to the beach for a picnic.

Ahoy

I'm sorry that I've been a bit lame with blogging but life has been so busy.
I remember one of you once said, 'Maria. When you are retired won't you be bored?' and the answer is 'NO'.
You have no idea how fast each day goes.
I am having fun all the time.
I recently took my boat sailing.
Here are some pictures.
I hope you are all happy and good luck with your new school year.

In The Bay

Hi hi hi hi hi!
I'm so excited! I finally launched my boat, Arigato Jack.
I'm very happy.
Nobody in Mexico knows what 'Arigato' means so I am telling lots of people that it means 'Thank You' in Japanese, because I want to say 'Thank You' to Japan for all the wonderful years I spent there.
I will return to Japan one day. I love your country.

Here are some pictures of my boat and the bay.
I'm launching the boat on February 1st!
Soon I will be living in the bay!
Woo hoo!

How are you all doing? It's nearly the end of the school year and the 3rd year students will be graduating soon.
I miss you all very much but am having an interesting time learning about fixing boats, too.
;)

Mexican food. Tortillas and refried beans. I think Mexican food is boring. I prefer Japanese food. ;)

This is the cable steering system on my boat.

This is the engine on my boat. It's an Isuzu!
Yesterday I replaced the fuel filter.

Sunrise on my boat.
Which do you prefer? Sunrise, sunset or old newspaper?
;)

This is where I sleep. It's so cosy. On boats beds are called 'bunks'.
Where do you sleep? On a bed, a futon or old newspaper?
;)

Here's me on my boat. It's cold in the mornings.

Sunset In Mexico

Isn't it beautiful!!

This kind of boat is called a 'Nonsuch'. It was designed in Canada. It has no rigging. How many words are new to you here?

Happy New Year

Yesterday I went sailing on my friend's boat. It's called Fast Lucy.
The wind was 30 knots, which is strong.
I love sailing!

Hello

Gosh. I've been so busy preparing for Mexico so sorry for not writing sooner.
Yes, today I leave on a bus for Mexico, where my boat is.
I'm happy to leave because I want some warm weather.
As you can see, it's been snowing heavily here in Flagstaff, USA.
Flagstaff is surrounded by desert but because there are mountains here it can rain and snow. It's a pretty interesting place to live because of these climate differences.
Where I am now, it's snowing.
40 minutes drive down the hill and it's like summer!

I'm very excited to be seeing my boat.
I haven't seen it since April 2008.
In that time lots of tropical storms and two hurricanes have rained down on my boat.
I wonder if it's okay or if it's damp inside?
I will soon find out.
See you in Mexico and Happy Christmas to you all.
I miss you and would love to teach you again one day.

Hello students!
I'm sorry that I haven't blogged in months and months but first I went to South East Asia for 2 months - Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, and then I came back to America and well, now I think I might be going down to Mexico.
I will blog more over the next few days.
Again, I am sorry for disappearing for a long time.
I miss you all!

Here's me on the boat in 2007. When I was young! Hey, do you know the band, The Killers? I love the song, 'When You Were Young'.
I have lots more music now. I'll send you a flash drive when I get back from Thailand.

Here's a picture of my boat. I will be living on it this fall/autumn. I can't wait. It's such fun to live on a boat.
