My boat was built in 1980 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
It's first owners called the boat Tamaru. Tamaru sounds Japanese, don't you think?
The second owner called the boat Grey Dawn.
I am the third owner.
Tradition and superstition says that it is bad luck to change the name of a boat, but I didn't like the name Grey Dawn.
I also wanted to sail in the memory of my grandfather, Jack, and I wanted to remember the many years that I spent in Japan.
So I decided to call my boat
Arigato Jack is 45 feet long, 13 feet wide and weighs 20 tonnes!!!!!
